Week 5

In the fifth week we analyzed three factors that have impacts on the player’s psychology. The first factor is reward which is something that all the humans seek out. All the games have reward, which are for example money, guns etc, and they don’t have only one reward but a lot of them. The second factor is flow that is something needed in order to make the players keep playing without being bored, if the game is too easy, or anxiety if it is too difficult. The last factor is irritation. Irritation is to perform actions again but not the same, with differences each time. Irritation is not boring in a game because you are aware of the possible consequences of your actions.
An example of irritation in games is in the game Icewind Dale 2 , in that game I used to play the parts many time in order to find the right way to do thinks and find my way or not be killed and every time I did it again I was more excited because I wanted to see what was about to happen.
